¡Hola a todos!

¡Hola a todos!

Wow. So many things have happened since we last spoke and I cannot believe the situation that I have found myself in! I’ll probably give you all another little update post soon, but the main news is that my life has got even busier 😂 and….

I’M GOING ON AN EXCHANGE TO SPAIN 🇪🇸!!! Yay! (Ahh… now you see the connection to my opening, don’t you?!) You know, it’s crazy how quickly this all came about (in the space of about 3 weeks) but oh my gosh….. I absolutely cannot wait for the process to start & love the whole idea of going on an exchange!

The view from the plane window ✈️

I better explain myself a bit more now! So, basically, I am going on a language exchange which means that I am going to Spain for 2 weeks, to live with my exchange host family and talk Spanish 24/7 – eeek!! 😬 I’m also going to spend the weekdays going to my exchange parter’s school and following her timetable, doing her lessons, etc. We’ll also do lots of fun things too, and I can’t wait to try some traditional churros and paella!✨ Hopefully my Spanish will improve loads, and this truly is a dream come true, as I have always wanted to do an exchange since I started learning languages at school (I don’t know whether I’ve mentioned it before, but I love learning languages and one of my future goals is to speak another language fluently, or at least very well!) 💗

And then, after all that, my exchange partner will come back to England with me, to spend about 2 weeks with me & my family, going to my school, etc! Let’s just say I’m super excited and can’t wait for it all to start!

I’m also really fortunate as this was all organised through our schools 😄. Therefore it means that my school will be more ‘lenient’ with work catch up and homework, or at least hopefully they will be! If you can’t tell already, I’m really excited about this and oh my gosh I can’t wait for it to start 🎉.

I’ve already been in contact with my exchange partner (who’s name will remain anonymous for now 😉) and so far we’ve sent each other a few emails, texted and even video chatted which was a nerve-racking experience but relieving (as I mostly understood what she was saying & could just about reply 😉 ), so at the moment I’m really excited about the whole thing. And luckily my exchange partner seems really nice – hopefully we’ll get along really well! 💚 But, when it comes to actually meeting her tomorrow, it could will be slightly different as I think I’ll be much more nervous, hehe!

And again, hopefully it’ll allow me to be a bit more active here & document some of the things that we do as a little travel diary, almost. I think that it’ll be cool to give you an insight into the whole exchange experience & my thoughts on how the process is going for me!

Have you ever been on exchange? What was it like? Do you want to go on an exchange in the future? Or do you simply enjoy learning languages? 💙 Let me know in the comments!

That’s all for now – I’m off to enjoy the sun – but I’ll see you all very soon! (Today, I’m spending the day with my family before meeting my exchange partner tomorrow 🌸🇪🇸)

¡Hasta luego!

(P.S: this was meant to be posted on Thursday 23rd, so sorry it’s a little late, but the good news is I’m settling in well & love my exchange partner and her family – phew! 😅)

4 things that mean a LOT to me

Have you ever played the game that goes along the lines of ‘what would you bring with you if you were stranded on a desert island for the rest of your life?’ ? I remember playing this game on coach journeys to and from school in year 5/6, and yesterday my cousin asked me the same question.

This time I actually thought more about the question before I gave my answer. I don’t really know why, but it interested me to see what I would theoretically keep and what I would theoretically say goodbye to in a heartbeat. Or what I feel is irreplaceable and what is replaceable in my life, if you get what I mean.

So today, for today’s post, I am going to be sharing with you just 4 items or things that mean a lot to me, and that I would always save if I was stranded on a desert island or the moon for the rest of my life.

(Obviously food, water & shelter were theoretically given to me on this island, otherwise they’d be my top 3 things and this would be a very boring post 😅)

1. My small collection of Memory/ Photo Books & Diaries that I used to keep

I’d without a doubt take my ‘Memories’ Book and my small collection of photo albums & diaries that I used to have with me if I was going to be stranded anywhere for the rest of my life. It doesn’t matter if I am stranded with or without my family (I don’t think the rules for this game go as in-depth as whether your family are coming with you or not, or if there are other people already there, etc), I’d just love to have all my memories from my childhood & pictures of my family and friends with me at all times. It’d be nice to be able to look back at good times and on happy memories 💞 and I guess these books have a place in my heart, especially my ‘Memories’ Book as I spent a lot of time creating something that I can look back on in the future.

I guess these are just so personal to me, and no-one could ever take away this from me, I always will have used to have kept diaries, photo albums & memory books, you know?

My ‘Memories’ Book

2. My Pandora Bracelet

Can a piece of jewellery really have so much sentimental value that you want to keep it forever and ever? Yes, to me it certainly can! 😂 Gosh, I must’ve got my Pandora Bracelet about 3 years ago now, which is crazy, and since then most of my close family members have bought me a charm for a special occasion for me to put on there! I love the fact that (and I think a lot of other people have Pandora bracelets for the same reason) each charm represents something different and is personal to you. For each charm I have, there is a memory that I associate with it.

For example, when I went to Dubai in February, on the last evening we went to the Dubai Mall before we headed off to the airport. Seriously, I cannot tell you how much of an amazing trip going to Dubai was, and it has taught me soooo many things & I appreciate the opportunity SO much (thank you M&D 😘)! Anyway, I didn’t spend much on the whole trip so I had a few dirhams left over (the currency in the UAE) so I decided to treat myself to a charm for my Pandora bracelet. It was my first time abroad without my family, as well as my first time out of Europe so it really was a special trip, so a passport charm seemed perfect. 💚 I now wear it proudly on my bracelet, and it serves as a little reminder of good times out there!

My Pandora Bracelet 😊

3. My Teddy?

I’m pretty sure that we all tend to get given a soft toy/ teddy bear when we are born nowadays, and how could I not take my teddy with me if I was stranded on a desert island for the rest of my life?? Yep, I couldn’t leave him behind 😂. I guess it would just remind me of home?? Well, it means a lot to me so I can’t leave it out, and it would remind me of home, my ‘childhood’ and my family, which to me would be comforting – I mean, who wants to get stranded on a desert island for the rest of your life? (clearly, not me…. *gulp*)

Not my teddy bear, but a similar looking one!

4. My instant camera (& of course an unlimited supply of instant camera film! 😂 – that’d be really good, wouldn’t it?!)

Of course, the last item that I would take with me would have to be my instant camera! Normally, I can never be far away from it, and whenever we have a family weekend, special occasion or holiday it will often be first on my list of what to pack! I have such a collection of instant camera photos now, but don’t you just love the ‘old’ technique of taking a photo and waiting for it to develop in front of your eyes? 💙 I know that I certainly do, there’s just something so special about taking an instant camera photo rather than simply taking a selfie on your phone.

(And the unlimited supply of instant camera film, well film can be expensive in my opinion (I think it’s about £8.99 for 10 photos on amazon, but don’t hold me to that!), so an unlimited supply??!! Why not? I know that I normally have to ‘ration’ my instant camera photos so it’d definitely be great to have an unlimited supply, however unrealistic that is! 😂)

Ooh, don’t you just love this image?! 😍

There were my 4 things that I’d most likely take with me if I was stranded on a desert island! I’m interested to know what you’d take with you if you were stranded on a desert island for the rest of your life – let me know in the comments below!

What would you take with you if you were stranded on a desert island? Would you take any of the things I ‘decided’ to take with me? Have I left any items out from my list? Did you enjoy this style of post?

See you all soon,

Spring Favourites

Dear Readers,

Hey! How are you doing? I hope you are well 😊. So, I’m back with another post (bet you didn’t expect me to be back so soon, huh?) & I’m excited for this! Today, I am going to be sharing with you some of my Spring favourites. I really love the season of spring, and although it is quite cloudy outside now the promise of warmer weather and new wildlife makes me feel excited for the next few months!

This is going to be my first ever ‘favourites’ type post, and so I’m not entirely sure how it’s going to go, or how you are going to react, so please forgive me if it goes terribly. 😂

(wish me luck, here we go…)

I only have two for you today, they are:

  • Elemis skin care – the Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser is soooo good in the morning; it helps me to feel fresh & wake up, and I think (or at least hope) it’s helping with my spots.
  • Cropped Jeans – although at first I was unsure what to pair these with on my feet, I absolutely love my pair of cropped jeans that I got as a present for Christmas. They’re perfect for Spring weather when it’s too cold for shorts yet too hot for sweatshirts & jumpers, and with frayed details around my ankles they look really cute on, and are soooo comfortable. Seriously – I am in love. 😍
  • Kikki K stationery – yep, that’s right, I am a stationery addict at heart. 😂 I recently discovered Kikki K stationery (I think it’s a Swedish brand) and have been wowed by some of the pretty designs of their products!
  • Anything with a turquoise/ mint colour 💙💙 – I am 100% sure that my favourite colour at the moment is that really pretty turquoisey-mint colour, and so anything with this colour on, I am pretty likely to love. A lot of the things I have bought recently are definitely been this colour themed!
  • PEN-PAL!! Oh my goshhhh, I have seriously been getting into pen-palling/ snail mailing recently and so this is certainly my latest activity that I enjoy to do in my spare time. I love sending (and receiving, of course! 😉) letters around the world – I think it’s cool to think of where and how far a letter has come, and the thought & effort someone else has put into it! Also, you can make some really lovely friendships with people from all cultures, etc and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who is ‘creative’, likes bullet journalling or scrapbooking, and just wants to have a bit of fun! (I think at some point, I’m going to have to do a pen-pal themed post 💞)
  • Modern Calligraphy/ hand lettering – I am trying, slowly but surely, to learn how to write in modern calligraphy/ hand lettering fonts. I think that they look soooo aesthetic & pretty and would absolutely love to be able to write in this particular style any day! Hopefully with a bit a LOT more practise I’ll get there! 😂
  • Go for walks – Spring is definitely the perfect time to get out and about… on FOOT! The weather means that it’s not yet too hot for doing literally everything and it can be very pleasant to see all the different flowers & crops growing again!
  • Hang out with family/ friends – with the Easter break, Spring is also a great time for hanging out and relaxing with your family/ friends. I find that Easter is often the perfect time for a good catchup with a family member or friend that you haven’t seen since Christmas or the beginning of the year. 🌟 Sometimes, it’s nice to just sit and chat to someone you haven’t spoken to for a while and properly catch up!

Well… I haven’t really taken any photos of Spring or that are Spring related yet so…. We’ll save it for next time, shall we?

My first ever favourites post is complete! Crazy, huh? I actually really enjoyed writing & creating this post, so I definitely hope that you enjoyed reading it! 😊

What are some of your spring favourites? Do you have any similar favourites to me? Have you got any pen-pals? Do you like sending/ receiving mail? What do you like the most about Spring? Let me know in the comments!

Hope to see you all again soon!

A little update

Dear Readers,

I’m back, I’m on another break from blogging, I’m back, and then I’m on another break. I seem to be going round an endless circle that won’t stop: no matter how hard I try to break this bad habit school seems to have got the better of me yet again, so I must apologise for that! 😂

Finally, the well deserved Easter break has begun (well, actually it began last Friday…) and so hopefully I’m back for good! I am pre-warning you that I have my Year 10 Summer exams coming up in a few weeks, so I will probably be gone again for a week or two then as the teachers are definitely piling on the pressure, but don’t worry as after that it’ll be ‘Hello Blogging!’ again!

So, where have I been? There’s lots I feel I need to tell you, to explain my absence and to help you understand my life and what’s been going on recently. I also have always said from the start that I need to be honest to and with my readers, as it means no ‘secrets’ or things I can’t tell you, etc, and as I feel it helps you to understand me as a person better.

(this is going back to February/ March, so sorry for the delay. I’m also not asking for your sympathy at all, I just want you to understand why I haven’t been as active as I’d have liked)

Firstly, I need to tell you that in February, one of my step-aunts passed away. This was a shock to me but mainly to my extended family. I know it sounds bad, but I didn’t even know she was ill at the time. I went to Emma’s funeral in March, and seriously it was such a sad occasion and made a very emotionally draining, hard day. 😢 It was really hard to see my step-nana (my step-aunts mum) so upset, but I was glad I went to pay my respects and also because it made my step-nana pleased that I had come, and for that I was grateful. I know that Nana will be finding the coming years hard and I do hope that gradually the pain will get easier for her 😘.

Also in February, we had a mini (and I mean tiny) fire in our house. We were so lucky as my mum spotted it when there was barely a flame, and also because of the speed that the firefighters reacted with as well as their talent & skill. I am so grateful to the crews that came to put out our fire, especially as the damage is so minimal. Yes, we do now have a small hole in our roof, but no-one was hurt and it could’ve been so much worse. I know that the firefighters that came to our house won’t be reading this, but I still want to say a BIG thank you to each of the firefighters that came. ✨ Without your speed & skill I could be here in a very different situation- you saved our house & livelihood, so thank you very much for that.

There we are, those are two minor but major (if that makes sense) things that happened in my life in the past few months. This, along with schoolwork have meant that I’ve just been far too busy for blogging. It’s sad as I still have had ideas for posts every so often, but I just haven’t had the chance to write them yet!

So, what’s going to be in store for Autumn’s Angle for the rest of the month? 😊

Well, I don’t really have a clear direction or plan in which I want to go yet, but I’m thinking of some more light hearted posts, maybe some reviews or more lifestyle based posts. I really don’t know the direction as to which my posts will be going yet but I do feel as if a more lighthearted, lifestyle or crafty/ snail mail route might take over this Spring, but we’ll see! The question is:

What type of posts would you most like to see? (please let me know in the comments! 💚)

Anyway, I hope you will excuse my absence once again, but I hope you know that I am trying my best to re-immerse myself back into the blogging world! (and sorry for the messy, a bit all-over-the-place post 😂)

That’s all for today,

Love,

Long time no see

Dear Readers,

*waves* 👋 Whoa. Hello! Long time no see. There is so much I want to tell you all about and I don’t know where to start; but it’s seriously good to be seeing you all again.

Before I begin on this little update, I must say that I am so sorry for the second mini-hiatus I seem to have accidentally taken – life just got the better of me once again. Do you know this feeling; when your life seems to take off & you become consumed with tonnes of things to do, and you feel as if you don’t have time to breathe? Well, that’s been me for the past I-don’t-know-however-many-days. *sighs* Yep. That’s been me. 😔

I cannot really believe how much time I’ve spent away from my little corner of the internet – I think it must be coming up to almost a month now of appalling posting yet I still don’t know whether I’ll be coming back to a regular posting schedule after this, but I want to update you on what’s been going on and just say ‘hi!’.

I feel as if I should be apologising to you for not posting, yet ultimately it’s myself I should be apologising to. At the same time I know that I also have no control on the hectic-ness of my life & what happens and when, so it’s a mixed message really.

I don’t know what the future will be for these few coming weeks on Autumn’s Angle, but I am hopeful that you’ll be seeing a bit more of me here. I also have a horrible gut feeling that I might not be able to resume to normal posting quite yet, as I still feel a bit overwhelmed by everything.

But the good news is….

I’ve missed you! 💞

In some ways it’s so bizarre how I can have made such a connection with you over our screens & love for blogging, but I genuinely feel as if I have. I don’t know exactly how it’s happened, and it’s a crazy concept to think that I have made friends all over the world just from expressing my thoughts on here, but I have and I have missed you all. ✨ Hopefully, we can make the rest of March much more positive in terms of blogging. I think that when everything got a bit too much with schoolwork, and life in general, I started to feel overwhelmed by having my own blog to look after as well, do you get me?

So, I’m stripping this right back and am going to be setting myself two goals for the end of March.

1.Don’t take another hiatus! I know this sounds ridiculous but it’s going to be hard. I keep on feeling too overwhelmed with the demand of schoolwork & exams plus this blog, so I need to start to figure out a good balance and a way to do both and not drown in tiredness 💤 (is that even a thing?). I’m not saying I’m the busiest person in the world, but there are times when I just need to take a step back and re-figure out how I’m going to ‘juggle’ all that I am doing.

2.Try to work out the direction I want to take Autumn’s Angle. Along with not taking another break, I want to work out where I want to take my blog – I think another reason for not posting is that I seriously have no clue as to where I want to go with Autumn’s Angle & what kind of content I would ideally like to post in the next few months. I feel as if I need a direction pointing me to the way to go.

Like I said, I am only going to be setting myself two goals. This is so I don’t end up putting excess pressure on myself to post & end up in the same situation I was in a month ago – I’m gently nudging myself back in to the blogging world! 😂

This has been a short but sweet ‘hello’ again, but I hope to be talking to you all again very soon.

(oh my goshhhh, it feels so good to be publishing something again!!)

Hello… again!

Dear Readers,

Wow. Long time no see I guess! It’s been two weeks I think since I last posted on here; my own lil’ corner of the internet, and wow – a lot has happened! 😂 I’ve missed you all, sorry I had to accidentally take a break from blogging (school just got the better of me!), and I can’t wait to be re-immersed to the blogosphere! 🌍

So, the big questions are: where have I been, & what’s going to be in store for Autumn’s Angle in the coming weeks?

I’ve been to many places yet haven’t really left my house if you know what I mean; I’ve had many exams & been very busy at school mostly. I was also ill for a bit (don’t you just hate winter colds?) and managed to infect a few friends & family too… *oops* All in all, I haven’t had the time for blogging, which is a shame as January was a really good start to the year, however, for me, schoolwork has to take priority, and I have always promised myself this ever since I started to blog last year. ❤️ Blogging is just something I love to do & will continue to do for a long time! Anyway, I seriously hope you are all doing well & that you haven’t missed me too much.

The good news is…

I’m back!

  (Or for now, at least….)

So, what is going to be in store for you for the rest of the month? Well, as I mentioned at the start of year, I’m travelling all the way to the UAE for my half term! I’m so excited, especially as it’s getting closer & closer now, although I am so scared at the same time! 😬 How does this affect Autumn’s Angle though? Well, I’m hoping to post a mini travel series on my experience out there, which will be posted every few days from next week! 💙 I’m seriously really excited to be sharing my experience with you all, and sharing a bit about what the UAE has to offer for those of you who haven’t been before (like me!)! This is my first time on a long haul flight and first time out of Europe though, so it is a little bit daunting and a big thing for me. Hopefully, it’ll all be great!

(After all this talk, I cannot wait!)

After being absent from the blogosphere for a while now, I am mainly looking forward to catching up on posting, as well as catching up on all of your posts! 😊 In the comments below, you can link your favourite post from the last few weeks if you want, so I can catch up on a bit of reading from you all!

What have I missed? Excited for some travel posts? Been to the UAE before & got any advice for me? Favourite place to visit in Dubai/ Abu Dhabi?

Sorry for just a short lil’ update post for today,

Looking forward to hearing from you all soon, and look out for posts on my UAE adventure!

January Wrap Up

Dear Readers,

Whoa.

Can you believe it?! Tomorrow’s going to be February! How crazy is that? I certainly cannot believe how time has flown through the first month of 2019, and I definitely feel as if I’ve been in a mini whirlwind!

For this Thursday’s post, as it’s the 31st of January, I thought I’d take a step back from life, from Let’s Chat, and reflect on how my January’s been, and how Autumn’s Angle has been doing this month!

(this is my first ever monthly wrap up, so cut me some slack please 😂)

Autumn’s Angle’s January:

+ Let’s Chat has started strong!

Yep, that’s right, I’m officially crazy – I started my very own blogging series! So far, I’ve been having so much fun creating each Let’s Chat post, to spark some discussion about topics or things that I am personally very passionate about. I am so thankful to have all of your support, so thank you very much! You are what makes everything on here possible, so I owe you, as my readers, a LOT! 💞

I’m also hoping that Let’s Chat can continue to grow, and that I can provide some more thought-provoking posts in February! Hopefully, next month we’ll even see our first ever Let’s Chat guest post/ collab as well!

+ I’ve (mostly) stuck to my blogging schedule

As part of my New Year’s blogging resolutions, I decided to start my own posting schedule for my blog! So far, I’m pretty much sticking to it, a regular Sunday or Monday post (yeah – I still haven’t figured out which day I want to post), as well as an extra optional post on Thursday if I have the time.

So far, it’s working well by helping me keep on top of blogging and posting on here! It’s like a little reminder to myself to keep on going, and to continually let my thoughts splash onto this page. I cannot express how much I’ve come to love blogging, so thank you all for letting me have the opportunity to do so. ❤️

+ Autumn’s Angle’s views have been increasing

Personally, I’m very proud to say my views are slowly, but surely increasing! I think creating a blogging schedule has helped this, as it has helped me stick to posting once, maybe twice a week, and not disappearing for a few weeks! This has had a knock-on affect to my views, so thank you everyone for following Autumn’s Angle! I think I’ve also been discovering some more amazing blogs recently, although I’d say I haven’t been as active as I’d have liked this month. 😭

In February, I’m hoping to continue this trend, as well as becoming a little bit more active in the blogging community once again!

My Personal January:

+ I didn’t fail my exams. Just.

I didn’t take any important exams this term (like GCSE mocks, etc – that’s being saved for next year….), but I did have to take some internal exams in my science, maths and language subjects. I was definitely pleased with most of my results: I did exceptional in one subject, well in the majority of them, but I failed 2 of my sciences…. Well, I didn’t really fail them, but I panicked in one of the exams, and made lots of silly errors in my equations in the other! It’s a good chance to learn from these mistakes, however I was upset as I’d done lots of revision for them.

Basically, I’m hoping they go better next time round, and that in February any exams I have to take will go well! No pressure then…. 😂

+ I wrote lots of letters to my Pen Pals!

This one, I was very pleased with! I am definitely very lucky to have 3 pen pals (two of them are twins! 😊), who I can write to whenever I want. I will admit that at the end of last year, I didn’t keep up with writing any letters to the twins in particular, when really I 100% should have. Thankfully, January went much better and I am hoping this will continue into February! I even would love to have another Pen Pal to write to, but I’ve no clue how to find one…. 😂 (any suggestions? They’d be very welcome! 💗)

That’s about it for this wrap up post, ✨ I think I have less to say about my personal life as it’s mainly consumed by school! Anyway, hope you enjoyed, what I want to know is:

How’d your January go? What were your highlights of the month? Excited for February? Do you have a pen pal?

Let’s Chat: Change the World

Dear Readers,
I hope you enjoy this! It's a piece I've written from the very bottom of my heart, as Climate Change to me is a very important topic. I mean every single word I say, so please, enjoy & talk to me at the end about your thoughts.
Lots of love, Autumn x

Change the World:

Life is a gift. We all know that. We all treasure our opportunity to belong on this planet, our planet, Earth. But we don’t always consider the impact we are making, and are continuing to make, we don’t always think of the consequences of one small action: are we abusing our power as humans? Are we taking this incredible opportunity for granted? Is it all too late?

Each year, our sea levels continue to rise. Unbearable temperatures try to conquer us, try to warn us of the dramatic change we are continuing to direct upon ourselves. Our weather is getting more extreme: there are more droughts, storms of a higher severity and devastating hurricanes. We are pushing our planet to its limit.

I think it’s time for a bit of reflection.

Sometimes, it’s good to ask yourself what would be here if you weren’t. You wouldn’t even know of Earth’s existence. You wouldn’t even know of or be yourself. If you weren’t here right now, then what would there be? Nada. Nothing. Or at least if there was something else, then the chances are you wouldn’t know about it.

Sometimes, you have to just take a step back from your lives and think about what it means to exist. What it means to be alive, and what it feels like to be alive.

What are you going to do about your gift of life? What impact you are going to make to the lives of not only others around you, but about the lives of future generations? It’s not often we think about the distant future, but some of the problems we are causing today will affect us, as well as many generations to come. We need to start to think about our actions, and the impacts they are going to have on our children, our children’s children and our children’s children’s children.

Otherwise soon it will be too late.

I know this is a truly scary thought, but it is something I believe we should address. Do we want our incredible planet to dry up, to become uninhabitable, to ultimately hold no life because of our actions? Do we want to make other generations suffer because of our selfishness to not do anything about our environment as some believe climate change doesn’t exist, isn’t a thing? Do we want to ruin all that we and ultimately previous generations have fought for?

Personally, my answer is no.

I don’t know about you, but I am passionate about saving the planet. I don’t want to rely on the off-chance that global warming isn’t happening. I don’t want to blame those leading our worlds for not deciding to contribute towards saving the magnificent world we have at our fingertips. I don’t want to make up the excuse that what I could do won’t make any difference to the Earth’s future.

I want to make the Earth’s future a positive one.

I know that if I were to cut down on my personal plastic use then it probably wouldn’t make an outstanding difference to this planet. But think of the opportunities or possibilities there are if we all chipped in. If we all used more public transport or cycled or walked to work. If we all rejected plastic packaging and pushed for more cardboard or recycled materials to be used. If we all showed our leaders that we are not happy letting our planet be left to become uninhabitable.

As a collective, we are so much stronger than any individual. It is so much easier to fight for one cause together, to protect those we care about most and our future generations as a whole.

If the majority chose to simply try to cut their plastic use, to recycle more and to reduce their personal carbon emissions, we could make such a difference. To our own futures, to others futures.

It’s incredible what humans can achieve once we’ve put our minds towards something.

So today, I’m hoping you’ll want to come on a ‘journey’ with me to help turn around the Earth’s future. I hope you’ll want to join in to help reduce your personal Carbon Emissions and plastic use, and increase your recycling and your awareness towards climate change, even if you just try it for a week. All I’m asking is for you to try to be more eco-friendly (I know it’s hard sometimes), to help save this precious environment we have left. As a collective, we can do so much more than just as an individual.

To end, I’m going to now share with you one of my favourite quotes; it’s pretty famous but moreover, it’s powerful. It speaks volumes to me, so I hope it speaks volumes to you too:

‘The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do’

Steve Jobs

I think I can change the world.

The question is:

Can you?

Let’s Chat: A compliment a day?!

Dear Readers,

Okay! So here we are: first ever Let’s Chat post! 💙 No pressure for me then… I hope you all enjoy reading this, as it is from a post idea I have been waiting to write since last year; now feels like the right time to go through with it! Anyway, I hope you are excited, because I certainly am!

*drum roll please*

Here goes nothing…

Today’s post is all about boosting others egos.

Yes, that’s right, the first Let’s Chat post is going to be based around the topic of boosting others self-esteem, and why I believe that as humans we should be complimenting each other a whole lot more than we do at the moment. ✨

How hard is it to compliment someone else? To tell them their hair looks nice, or tell them that they’re rocking their outfit today, or to even ask where they got their t-shirt from?

I know this is very cringeworthy, but it gets the point across well 😂

It seriously is easier than answering any question in an exam or test. And it costs you NOTHING AT ALL. All you have to say is ‘Your hair looks cute today’, or ‘I’m loving that dress, where is it from?’, and that’s it. I can guarantee you’ll make your family member or friend (although it doesn’t even have to be one of your friends) feel on top of the world, especially if they were worrying about what they look like that particular day. And, also, you’ll feel pretty good too – there’s nothing lovelier than making someone else’s face light up with happiness, is there? 🎉

We’ve all been there before, haven’t we? We’ve all been testing out a new hairstyle or outfit, and then someone says that they like it, and it’s like WHAT???!!! You feel so happy, so relieved, and so confident that you then want to wear that particular combination 24/7, purely as others think you look nice? I know – it’s sad that we rely on others opinions so much, and that’s why we can be so vulnerable as beings sometimes.

Humans rely on acceptance from others.

I can’t believe I just wrote that. It’s crazy, I mean I don’t necessarily want to rely on others for liking or disliking a certain style, but deep down, I think we all know it’s true. We all know we shouldn’t need others to tell us we look nice to feel beautiful. We all know we shouldn’t ‘backstab’ others behind their backs. We all know that it’s much easier to be ourselves than to pretend to be someone else. But there’s something missing: we know we shouldn’t do these things, although sometimes we seem to be falling into a loophole of breaking these promises/ things we know we shouldn’t do.

Wherever I go, there always seems to be someone being unkind to another. Always seems to be someone willing to be nasty about someone behind their back, for the sake of ‘fitting in’ with a certain crowd. And there is almost never anyone being kind to someone else, and meaning it.

Where has all the kindness gone in our world?

We shape the world we live in, we choose our own environment to thrive, we choose the place we want to fit in. Yes, we choose the place we live in, but we also shape the environment we live in as well.

Next time you see anyone, choose kindness, choose compliments, and choose to be genuine. Choose to be who you want to be. Don't follow others to fit in. Be true to yourself, and everything else will follow.

To help motivate me, I am attempting to give a least ‘a compliment a day’.

We all can drift away from our beliefs sometimes, sometimes we get caught up in the moment and do something we regret. Luckily, this is all part of being ‘human’, but for me, I want to focus on giving positivity to others. I don’t want to cause them anything other than happiness. It will be a struggle, I’m certainly far from perfect, but it is my imperfections that make me who I am.

A compliment a day is designed to help this. To help me continually improve someone’s mood, or even to make their day. 💜 The compliment’s that I am going to giving have to be genuine. If they aren’t, then there’s no point giving them: I simply have to mean what I say.

Simple, right? Wrong!

As I’ve said before, it won’t necessarily be easy to stick to, but it’ll hopefully boost the self-esteem of those around me, as well as make me feel good & kind too.

Care to join me?

Of course, I am encouraging you to take part in ‘A compliment a Day’ as well as me, obviously there’s no pressure for this to happen, but it could be a great change for you & the direction your life is going!

I’ll leave you with a quote:

Wow – first ever ‘Let’s Chat’ post = complete! Not gonna lie, I’m impressed with myself, and I really do hope you enjoyed this post, and that you enjoy many more ‘Let’s Chat’ posts to come! 😊.
